1.5m + CHIRON COMPUTERS
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. ctimac1 is dead and gone

2. ctimac2 is on the left and does not work

3. ctimac3 is in the middle and used by observer to take data. It has
2.0T of storage, but a lot of that is used for the operating
system. We delete data from ctimac3 about once/month because the
better version of the data is on ctioe1. Note that data are pulled
from ctioe1 and written on ctimac3 every 30 minutes for only the
past 2 nights of observations (no more). We pull data to Atlanta
from ctimac3, so if a frame is (accidentally) deleted from ctioe1,
but was already written to ctimac3, we still have it.

4. ctimac4 is on the right and used by observer to cruise the web,
   etc.

5. ctimac5 is at the 0.9m

6. ctioe1 the primary CHIRON computer located in the electronics room.
The data acquisition (internal disk) on ctioe1 is known as
   /dev/sda3 = /home = /data, with a capacity of 1.8T. This is where
data taken by CHIRON are written first. It is behind the CTIO
firewall. When this is filling up, CHIRON data are moved to ...

7. The CHIRON archive (secondary) disk, which is external and
   connected to ctioe1. It is known as /dev/sdb1 = /data2, with a
   capacity of 3.6T.

8. A new external mega-disk will be described here ...

** We use about 6G on a long clear night with high frame cadence. **
