Example drawing from a paper on cosmology

The figure illustrates how the phenomenon of "aberration of light" can be used to explain how the angular diameter of galaxies is increased beyond that expected for their distance from us. While the expansion of space gives an exact value for this effect, for small redshifts, the aberration of light gives an equally accurate answer, and furthermore demonstrates one example of a correspondence between phenomena on the global scale and those on the local scale.
