Pioneer of multiframe blind deconvolution and time-distance helioseismology with 40 years of experience in helioseismology. Over 20 years of experience building instruments and 30+ years running experiments in Antarctica. Interested in developing the next generation of extremely large optical telescopes.
Professor Jefferies' research focuses on:
- Helioseismology and solar physics (40 years experience)
- High-resolution imaging through atmospheric turbulence
- Space domain awareness and satellite imaging
- Image restoration and reconstruction algorithms (pioneer of multiframe blind deconvolution)
- Instrument development and field deployments
