CCD: QUAR 6'x6'arcmin READOUT: ONE AMP GAIN INDEX: 1: Read Noise ~ 1.5 FILTER SET: CUSTOM S4816 (BG40 equivalent, see notes below) -------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTES FOR TARGET FIELDS ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Focus at beginning of night. Keep an eye on it during the night as the temperature changes. 2. Check to make sure that the coordinates are correct. 3. Check finder chart to confirm field. 4. Take the exposures. Use 10 second integrations, and read a quarter of the chip to minimize readout time. It is important that the images be as continuous as possible and the target be acquired as early as possible. 5. No calibration stars are required. We do relative photometry, so please include a few other stars in the field. 6. Please take 10 biases and a few darks each night. 7. Please take 30-50 flats each night, using the BG40 filter. 8. We will be using a new filter that will come to CTIO with Dr. Henry. It is a news S4816 (BG40 equivalent) 3x3inch square filter. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- OBSERVING SEQUENCE ----------------------------------------------------------------------- TARGET GD358 PRIORITY 1 COORDINATES 16:47:18 +32:28:25 (2000) FINDER CHART www.physics.udel.edu/~jlp/gd358finder.jpg AIRMASS any FILTER(S) BG40 INTEGRATION(S) 10s TOTAL TIME as short as possible NOTES strict photometric conditions are not required SEQUENCE continue 10 s integrations as long as possible
