CCD: FULL 13'x13'armin READOUT: ONE AMP GAIN INDEX: 3: Read Noise ~ 3.5 FILTER SET: UBVRI (using R filter only) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTES FOR TARGET FIELDS ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Our program is to observe bright Kuiper Belt objects (KBOs) to 0.01 arcsecond precision in order to obtain very precise astrometry. In order to obtain the required precision the KBOs need to be observed from 30 minutes to 50 minutes, depending on their brightness. We will also observed some field stars to determine their astrometry. Some objects can only be observed at the very beginning or end of the night. The observations are simple direct imaging in the R-band. Images of the KBOs should be no more than about 10 minutes to prevent trailing losses of the moving KBOs. Field star images range from 20 to 600 seconds. Five to ten arcsecond dithering between successive images is requested. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTES FOR CALIBRATION FIELDS ----------------------------------------------------------------------- No standards are needed. Only flats and biases are needed in the R-band. Epoch is J2000 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- OBSERVING SEQUENCE ----------------------------------------------------------------------- KBO/Starfield #exposures Total time x seconds for object each night 20000 4x600sec (45 minutes)** 90482 4x600sec (45 minutes)** Orcus_2008march 3x600sec (35 minutes)** Orcus_20080527 2x400sec (20 minutes) Orcus_20080220 2x600sec (25 minutes) Orcus_20080218 3x30sec (5 minutes) Orcus_2008feb 2x600sec (25 minutes) 136108 2x600sec (25 minutes) 136472 2x600sec (25 minutes) ** These are the highest priority targets.
