CCD: FULL 13'x13'armin READOUT: QUAD GAIN INDEX: 3: Read Noise ~ 3.5 ADU = 3.5 e- FILTER SET: SDSS r ----------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTES FOR TARGET FIELDS ----------------------------------------------------------------------- These observations should be taken over the first four hours of the night on November 15 (November 16 UT),using the SDSS r filter only. The goal of this project is to provide dedicated recovery observations of newly discovered Kuiper belt objects to ensure that the ephemerides of these bodies are determined with significant precision for further photometric and spectroscopic study. The target KBOs are all moving ~2 arcseconds/hr. So in order to figure out which source is the KBO in the image, I require multiple observations of the same target separated by enough time to the detect the object's motion. In order to distinguish my KBO from the background stars, I require at least two sets of observations spaced approximately an hour apart. A typical set of observations for my targets would be to slew to the predicted KBO position and take TWO 400s exposures, and an hour later come back to the target and take another TWO 400s exposures. All objects should be observed twice. If time is short or weather is bad please observe only the high priority targets. If time is short and it is not possible to get a second set of observations on all targets, please try and get two sets of observations on my priority 1 target even if the time between the two sets of observations is shorter than an hour. 1. Make sure that the focus is good. 2. Check to make sure that the coordinates are correct. 3. Take the TWO 400 second exposures ----------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTES FOR CALIBRATION FIELDS ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.There are no standard stars needed for these observations 2. Dome flats in r filter are needed. 3. Bias images are needed. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- OBSERVING SEQUENCE ----------------------------------------------------------------------- TARGET K8825B PRIORITY 1 COORDINATES 23:53:21.4307 -23:30:06.658 FILTER(S) r INTEGRATION(S) 400s,400s TOTAL TIME 920s AIRMASS Less than 2.0 NOTES Please try and get a 2 hr seperation between next pair of images if possible. See above in the Notes for Targets section. For Targets K8825B and K8924A please try and get the second set of observations after more than an hour if possible, they are moving less than an arcsecond an hr and a longer separation between the two pairs of images will help see the object's motion. .
