ROUND 2 = JUN/JUL/AUG 2 spectra for AGN3 and AGN4 per visit = 4 spectra
Program is more sensitive to timing than observing conditions and spectra
should be obtained whenever possible regardless of Moon phase or cloud cover.

SCIENTIFIC DESCRIPTION Spectrophotometric monitoring of nearby AGN to determine the time lag
between continuum variations and variations in the broad emission line flux;
will ultimately lead to black hole mass measurements. Targets TBD.

PREFERRED SETUP CHIRON: full chip setup
RCSpec: 47/Ib, 47/II or 47/IIb (either ok)
EXPOSURE TIMES S Doradus --- monitor with RCSpec (JAN-MAY as possible)
15 min/visit X 22 = 5.5 hours
S Doradus --- three times with CHIRON (MAR/APR/MAY) ***** MAY CRUCIAL *****
40 min/visit X 3 = 2.0 hours
eta Car --- two times with CHIRON (NOV/DEC/MAR)***** CAN DO IN 2011B *****
15 min/visit X 2 = 0.5 hours
SCIENTIFIC DESCRIPTION S Doradus --- We have been awarded HST time to examine the ultraviolet
spectrum of S Doradus at a time when we look deeper into the photosphere
than any time during the last 40 years. These observations will probe the
underlying optical wind-dominated spectrum and its evolution leading up to
the HST observations in MAY 2012. A spectrophotometric observation with
RCSpec in MAY would be ideal, if at all possible.
eta Carinae --- This program links to HST observations to permit overall
modeling of the system.
