I am the current Director of our local Observatory, located in the middle of Hard Labor Creek State Park (~50 miles east of downtown Atlanta). HLCO opens monthly to the public – bringing the wonders of the Universe to Georgia residents.

Virtual Reality Astronomy

We are bringing Virtual Reality to our outreach effort:

• 3D stellar models: interactive Roche surfaces (featuring works by GSU and University of Michigan)
• Stellar databases visualizations (RECONS database with Prof. Todd Henry)
• CHARA virtual visit: learn all about optical interferometry (feat. Theo ten Brummelaar)
